Cineluce, LLC (“Cineluce,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a film distribution company and online platform connecting independent filmmakers and streaming platforms. We act as a distributor to help filmmakers license their films to partner platforms. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use our services, and the choices you have. It complies with major global privacy laws including the EU/UK GDPR, California’s CCPA/CPRA, Canada’s PIPEDA, Brazil’s LGPD, COPPA, and emerging U.S. state privacy laws (VA, CO, CT, UT). By using Cineluce’s platform, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly: When you register as a filmmaker or platform partner, we collect your name, email, contact information, company or organization name, and uploaded content such as film files, trailers, artwork, metadata, and licensing materials. We also collect billing and payout details for payments and royalties (credit card and bank data are handled securely by payment processors such as Stripe, PayPal, or Escrow.com).

Information collected automatically: We collect IP address, device ID, browser type, pages viewed, watch history, and technical diagnostics using cookies and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics). These help us secure and optimize platform performance.

Information from third parties: We may receive limited data from service providers or integrations (e.g., analytics, email, or escrow partners). We do not purchase or sell personal data.

How We Use Your Information

We process personal information to:

– Operate Cineluce’s distribution platform and provide our services.
– Facilitate filmmaker submissions, film curation, and licensing to streaming platforms.
– Process payments, escrow transactions, and royalty distributions.
– Send account updates, deal notifications, and platform news.
– Improve service performance, user experience, and system reliability
– Enforce our Terms of Service, detect fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

Legal Bases (EU/UK GDPR): Cineluce processes data under: (a) contractual necessity (to fulfill distribution agreements), (b) consent, (c) legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, analytics), and (d) compliance with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We may share it with:

– Service providers (payment processors, hosting, analytics, communication, and IT support).
– Streaming platforms when filmmakers’ content is approved, licensed, or distributed through our platform.
– Filmmakers when a licensing opportunity or negotiation occurs with a platform.

Cineluce uses cookies and related tracking technologies to ensure functionality and measure engagement.

– Essential cookies: Enable login, submissions, and secure streaming.
– Analytics cookies: Gather aggregated usage metrics through tools like Google Analytics. Opt out via Google’s opt-out tool.
– Advertising cookies: May display Cineluce promotions on other sites. You can opt out via DAA (aboutads.info/choices), NAI (networkadvertising.org/choices), and AppChoices (aboutads.info/appchoices).

We may use hashed identifiers (e.g., email) for custom audience advertising. Social media widgets (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) may collect data under their own privacy policies.

Do-Not-Track (DNT): Because no standard exists, Cineluce does not respond to DNT browser signals.

Data Retention

We retain personal and transactional data only as long as needed to manage licensing deals, payments, and compliance obligations. When you close your account or your agreements end, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period unless legally required to keep it longer.

Data Security and Breach Notification

We use encryption, secure servers, and DRM-protected video delivery to safeguard data. In the event of a data breach that could affect users, Cineluce will notify affected individuals and authorities within legally required timeframes (e.g., 72 hours under GDPR).

International Transfers

Cineluce is based in the United States. We may transfer and process data in the U.S. and other countries. When transferring data from the EEA, UK, or other regulated regions, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Children’s Privacy

Cineluce’s services are intended for professional use and not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that a child has provided personal data, we will promptly delete it.
